DM – Anna (bumped up from ADM as Clair got sick!)
Location – Vobster
Weather – Grey, Grey and more Grey (except a little bit of sunshine that warranted sunnies in the morning).
Who went – Anna, Chris H, Pete F, Emelie B, Jess H, Dan D and Sam L
The weather, the need to fill cylinders before pool training on Sunday and lots of drills wanting to be completed saw us once again make our way to Somerset to visit the wonderful inland diving site that is Vobster. Since the closure of Horsea
, we have noticed an increase in the usage of Vobster, especially by dive schools, however we still managed to reserve a spot for the minibus in the bottom car park and it wasn’t so busy once underwater. The aim for today was to get some drills done for the OD and SD trainees, with it being Emelie’s first drysuit dive and Sam’s first open water dives. Buddy ‘pairs’ for this week were Pete and Jess, Chris, Emelie and Dan and lastly myself and Sam. In between searching for planes, boats and automobiles (unfortunately there are no trains in Vobster) surface cover enjoyed various refreshments from the top notch ‘café’. Unfortunately no laughable incidents happened this week so anchor fodder is pretty limited. Once we had all packed up and paid (which is when I remembered to ask about Denise’s undersuit, which she’d left there the week before), we piled back in the minibus for the trip back to Soton. Last stop after kit washing and cylinder filling was a quick pint in the crown.
