Safety Information
Diving for work:
The diving qualifications you need to work in diving are explained here [50] [51]
Diving for conservation:
If you are into conservation most voluntary places in the UK ask that you are BSAC Sports diver or PADI rescue diver (or equivalent). This is true of diving at the NOC [52] where you will need your own equipment and diving on officially organised Seasearch dives [53].
Diving for maritime archaeology:
If you are into maritime archaeology then once you have BSAC sports diver you can go and volunteer with the National Archaeology Society and do their diving specific training courses etc. [54]
Building on your diving skills:
Why not attend a BSAC skill development course? [55] Why not train to be an instructor? (you can start as soon as you have finished BSAC sports diver) [56]. The BSAC is also divided into regions so to see the things happening close by visit BSAC southern region [57] and BSAC south east region [58].
Check out some of the other courses offered by sportsrec such as powerboat driving [59]. These courses are offered at a discount price with your sportrec membership which you have already bought to be part of SUSAC!
